Good news! Here at JOGG we welcome all expecting families, both insured and uninsured.

If you don't have private health insurance there no need to worry! All appointments are bulk billed you deliver at your public hospital.

There is a $200 access fee, which includes all antenatal care, and 6 weeks postnatal care.

EVERYONE!  We have pathways for the insured, uninsured and Medicare families.

A family’s pregnancy and circumstances are unique and that’s why we offer obstetrician-led care as well as midwifery-led care at JOGG.

When choosing midwifery-led care all antenatal and postnatal visits are included. The JOGG midwives are endorsed and able to provide you with all of your blood work, ultrasounds and even prescriptions, as they work in collaboration with the obstetricians at JOGG.

This is not something we offer yet for public patients - however we may do in the future.

There is an option for women delivering on the private side of the hospital to have your midwife as a support person during your birth (additional cost).  Please note that our midwives have limited spots for this option and is not available for all women.
Studies have shown many benefits associated with midwifery led care. Continuity of care is well known for higher satisfaction of maternity care, less likely to have an induction of labour, pharmacological pain relief (if that's what you want) and far more likely to achieve a vaginal birth.

Midwifery Led Care at JOGG
Traditionally you either have midwifery care or obstetric care.  The JOGG Midwifery Led Care program recognizes the importance of both professions, providing collaborative care for women and their families.

While obstetricians and midwives provide care for pregnancy and childbirth, midwives focus on providing personalized, holistic care that emphasizes natural childbirth and individualized support for the whole family.

Your obstetrician will be there at your delivery.

Midwives are the guardians of normal! Obstetricians are the ones we turn to if your pregnancy navigates outside of normal. This unique pathway focuses on the importance of continuity of care during pregnancy.
